The theme is not going to look anything close to live demo when you first install and activate it. Here in this short tutorial we will try to replicate live demo as much as possible.

First, go to front page of your site -> Click on Theme Options link at the very top of page -> You will be redirected to Theme Control Panel -> On Theme Control Panel click on Intro tab -> Select the Intro Type you’d like to have -> Save Changes -> Now click on Intro tab again -> Fill the fields shows up -> Save Changes once again.

Check the front page of your site once again. You will probably like what you see this time ūüôā

Please note that Vimeo videos does not show on localhost if you are trying to use a Vimeo video as background of Intro. But you will see your video as soon as you upload your site to a webserver.

Every section on front page can easily be disabled, go through all tabs and disable any section or customize it up to your liking.


Disabling a section via theme control panel will not disable the related Navigation link. On theme control panel go to Misc tab -> you will notice the links used for navigation on that page. You can edit or disable any of navigation links under Misc tab.

You may want to set up a custom navigation as well. The custom navigation is set to display right after Home link. For instance, the Extras link on navigation of live demo is created as a Custom Menu. This tutorial shows how to set up a custom menu.

Team Members

Team members field looks empty by default. You may add a new team member by going admin -> Members -> Add New field. You can increase the number of Members shows on front page via theme control panel -> Team Members tab. While adding a team member, you will see a field that asks Portfolio Tag. Thats important if you want to show the Recent Projects on CV page of the employee. Just add any tag to that field (make sure to use small letters and if you have any white space, replace it with – eg. Blue Sky tag should be written as blue-sky). Later, while adding Portfolio posts you will need to use same tag on New Portfolio Post.


Create some categories on admin -> Portfolio -> Portfolio Categories page. Then add new portfolio entries on Portfolio -> Add New page. If you want to connect a portfolio work to any team member, make sure to use tags as well. Later while creating

Blog Posts

On theme control panel -> Timeline tab -> Set the criteria to display the posts of a single category or most recent posts of all categories on blog posts row. You can also set the number of entries to display.

If you want to display a button to link all blog posts (Check “See All Blog Posts” on live demo) Go to pages -> Add New -> Use whatever you like as page title -> You will see Page Template selectbox on right hand below publish button -> Select Blog -> Publish the page. Now go to Theme Control Panel -> Timeline -> Select the page you just created for “Button Below Blog Posts” option.

Logo and Social Links

Upload a logo field is located under General tab on Admin -> Appearance -> Theme options page. We suggest a logo thats not higher than 30px – 1 line.

The social icons on header are hidden by default. They will start to show when a link is entered into social site links field on theme control panel, under header tab. You need to make sure to use http:// before any link otherwise the link will be broken


Create a custom navigation on Admin -> Appearance -> Menus page.

Register Now Link

You will need to enter Register Now Link and Text on theme control panel -> Header section to display Register Now button.

Event Details

Event details bar is managed on theme control panel -> Event Details tab


Create a category for Speakers -> Categories tab on theme control panel -> Select the Speakers category -> set the number of posts to 7 to display speakers blog (0 will disable that section). Posts -> Add new -> any post saved under Speakers category will show up on Speakers block. Square images are suggested as featured image for speakers block.


You can place all sponsor images into one single file and save it as a single image and upload it as a single sponsor image. Or upload them one by one on via sponsors tab on theme control panel

Twitter Widget

The theme doesn’t come with Twitter widget. you will need to download and install Gabfire Widget Pack. Once enabled, move Twitter widget into secondary-right widget zone

Newsletter Widget

Admin -> Theme Control Panel -> Footer -> Follow the instructions on screen.

How to Set Up Demo Ads

The demo ads cannot be included within demo content. You must manually save the ads by right clicking the ad and saving the image to your desktop. Then, you must upload the image to WordPress in Media > Add New. When the image is uploaded, click ‘edit’ and copy the File URL that is shown in the right side.

Then, navigate to Theme Options > Manage Ads and paste this code with the proper URL in each of the ad sections to allow the image to appear:

Here is a visual guide on how to setup the home page of Capacity theme. It’s very easy as you can see. The majority of all setting are in Theme Options, with a few widgets used to fill up the sidebar on inner-pages.



How to Add Testimonials Admin dashboard -> Testimonials -> Add New -> write any title for testimonials -> enter the testimonial text into text editor -> upload a square author image (author image is optional).

Now enter custom field values:

  • Custom field key¬†by¬†with value testimonial author name
  • Custom field key¬†label¬†with value to display anchor text below author name
  • Custom field key¬†link¬†with value to redirect user when anchor text is clicked


Connect Installation Guide

Install WordPress, Theme and BuddyPress

  1. Install WordPress.
  2. Install the BuddyPress plugin. Requires BuddyPress 1.6 or above.
  3. Upload Connect into your theme directory but do NOT activate it yet.
  4. Activate the BuddyPress plugin and follow the on-screen instructions.
  5. As soon as BuddyPress plugin is activated, you will receive a message as below:

BuddyPress was successfully activated! Please run the installation wizard.

Click on the Installation wizard link and follow all instructions of the BuddyPress plugin.

Please note that as of BUDDYPRESS v1.7, a BP compatible theme is no longer necessary as BP will work with any theme.

Follow On-screen Instructions

  1. Choose the components you’d like to install and click on Save & Next
  2. You will be asked to create a WordPress page to correspond with each BuddyPress

component (Members, Groups, Activity, Forums, Activate, Register, Blogs & multisite only). Create these pages and link them to each component.

  1. At the next page select a permalink format.
  2. At the next page; under Other Themes title, you will see the following message:
  • You have some other BuddyPress compatible themes available. Pick one of them from this list to use it.*

Select Connect and click *Use this theme* – be sure that Connect is selected in dropdown menu. DO NOT INSTALL BuddyPress template pack.

  1. Click on Finish and Activate button to complete installation.

If you have selected Forums component; you will have to take an extra step to use a forum with each group, or to use a standalone forum that is not related to groups. Click on Forums tabs and follow onscreen instructions in order to install forums.

Activate theme -> go to theme control panel -> and make sure to check Enable BuddyPress functions checkbox.

How to setup header as in live Demo

Go to admin -> Gabfire Themes -> Theme Options (1) -> General Settings (2) -> Select Text or Image based logo (3) -> Upload your logo (4) and click on Use this Image button after upload is completed / or if text based logo is selected, enter site name below.


  • Now the logo is set; just make sure to select a header type.


Second title on Right hand of Featured Slider

On theme control panel (1) -> Categories section (2) -> Select a category (3) and set number of posts (4) to display for right hand of featured slider.


Now you can enter title2 value for any post that is going to be saved under selected category. The entered text will display in black color above main post title.


Setting up Category Templates

Your category *MUST HAVE at least 12 or greater posts* and the number of posts to display for category pages *must be set to 12* at WordPress admin -> Settings -> Reading -> Blog posts shows at most field

Now since the precondition is set, we can set media other category template -> WordPress admin -> Gabfire Themes –> Theme Options –> Miscellaneous –> and enter the ID number of categories into any of these fields.

See this tutorial if you do not know how to check ID number of a category.


Setting up Post Templates

When creating a post, you can select a specific Post Template from the Gabfire Custom Fields panel. Please note this feature was introduced in Arts & Culture v1.0, so if you have a version lower than that, your theme will not have this functionality:
